Justin Bieber has dropped his beloved do in favour of a new hairstyle the 16-year-old pop star says is more mature.

The Stratford, Ont., natives hairdresser, Vanessa Price, posted on Twitter a picture of the singer with his newly shorn locks, just after sending out the message: Get ready ladies!

Bieber received the cut while on the set of a new Rascal Flatts video.

The two-time Grammy nominee said on Twitter that he plans to auction the hair he cut off, with the proceeds going to charity.

Justin Bieber told TMZ he got the haircut because he wanted to change it up and regarded his new cut as kind of a mature look.

Bieber also announced Tuesday that he would release an extended version of his 3D documentary, Never Say Never.
